Hi Monica,
I guess you pretty well have looked at and experienced that loneliness issue. One thing to add is AGE! Obviously being an older trans-woman there is no way to go to a bar on your own (not in my environment at any rate) or do many other things that might be open to a younger trans-girl. In fact, in this regard we are not much different to cis-gender women. The big difference would be, they'd have not been booted by their 'good-weather friends', and their family or most of them?
There are the 'hard' boots - they just decided you've become trailer-trash, and then those soft 'boots' which are now always so terribly busy to ever think of you. Never mind have a bit of time to spend with you.
My current daily social highlight is the 1hour session with my electrolysist. When that comes to an end soon, only the short chat with a supermarket check-out girl will be left, kinda sad, um.
Since I refuse to succumb to 'hiding' in front of the TV, only chick-lit is left. It helps but still.
Being on early retirement work (rejection) is no hassle - but of also no help either.
So I guess one needs to follow the cis-gender girls tradition of filling spare time with unpaid social work... a FINE learning experience for any MtF for sure it will be :-)
Just the thought of it could make most forget about being lonely, or?
Oh, and answering some blogs of those folks in the same boat can also give one a short lift out of this dark swamp of feeling lonely.
Thank you for sharing and caring,
A.
